"Comedifest Update"

Greetings all. It's been a while. Sorry for not writing after the Comedifest in March. My life has become very busy. Which brings me to the following...I want to let you know that I am not planning a Comedifest 2008, and, at this time, I don't know what the future holds regarding Comedifest. After 12 years of Comedifest & Comedifest Intensive programs, I have found that I've just become busier and busier with family, church and business. Also, even though I'm not planning a Comedifest 2008, I still plan to honor the Don Weed Education fund in 2008 through various clowning educational workshops coming in late winter to early spring. I will keep you informed. Thank you for all your support.

Thanks to all the incredible staff that made Comedifest 2007 one of the best for me ever. It was one of the more spiritually moving Comedifests. The absence of our dear friend, Don Weed, was felt by all and, was evidenced by the number of people that paid tribute to him; he was missed. My thanks to Randy Christensen for his tireless energy and his inspirational insight to sharing the word of God through clowning. And, thank you, Merrily Schultz, for all the work you do in helping me put on Comedifest. You do incredible work, I am forever grateful for all you do for the success of Comedifest. And, thank you to Albert Alter, Mary Pat McCoy, Al & Beve Bryant, the best instructors in the business. Your commitment to quality always shines through. A special thank you to Gina Wollrabe and The Nomadic Theatre featuring Heather Pearl and Sarah Liane Foster for adding your comedy expertise to the conference. A big thank you to two workhorses, Tony Francis & Taylor Ocasio, for all your help setting up, breaking down and everything else in-between. You guys are the best. There was such a variety of talent and workshops. And, let's not forget the staff performances, wow. And a big standing ovation to the talents of ComediKids, five very talented kids. Keep the passion. I want to also thank my good buddy, Mike Bednarek for coming by to play with us. Even though he wasn't on staff this year, he still brings along with him that clowning passion we all strive to fill Comedifest with. Also, a special thank you to my good friend and yours, Bruce "Charlie" Johnson, who came down and joined us for the weekend and did a very special Sunday performance.
